As the Nile River dispute between Egypt，Ethiopia andSudan enters a new decade, this paper seeks to map out theEgyptian perspective of the dispute, through an outline ofthe interventions made,opportunities lost,and challengesposed by the construction of the Grand Ethiopian RenaissanceDam. Looking at Egypt's domestic water security challenges,regional relationships and the tripartite process, and the roleand influence of external actors, the paper describes a decadeof diplomatic stagnation as entrenched nationalism createsforms of immovable policy on the River Nile.
