The objective of this study is to assess the potential impacts on patient outcomes, the healthcare system and the wider economy of a potential sustained higher adoption of telemedicine in Canada in a post-pandemic world. Current barriers that hinder the uptake of telemedicine in Canada are discussed and solutions are offered to overcome these barriers.

The report’s findings directly contribute to the evidence base in the area of telemedicine and virtual healthcare more generally, and should be of interest for policy and decision makers in healthcare and government.
