The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) steadfastly supports sustainable development in the Arab region. ESCWA has continually provided its services to member States and led by example, despite significant challenges and volatile conditions. However, emerging developments require novel solutions to tackle today’s complex problems. Consequently, ESCWA must find ways to be highly responsive to unconventional challenges presented by its growing clientele. To do so, ESCWA needs to become more agile, pro-active and efficient in delivering services to its member States.
