Climate shocks and stresses affect the livelihoods, food security, water security, and health of millions of people in Asia and the Pacific. Climate change is projected to further affect the frequency, intensity, extent, duration, and timing of extreme weather events—including unprecedented extremes—and to alter trends and induce shifts in long-term average climate.
