In the context of fast-paced technological developments, the climate crisis, persistent social inequalities and demographic shifts, there is a need to rethink learning for people of all ages and to transform education systems. With increasingly unpredictable labour markets, reskilling and upskilling throughout life becomes an essential part of people’s professional pathways. In addition to digitalization, robotics and automation, the shift towards low-carbon economies is expected to reshape labour markets, resulting in a growing demand for skills to this green transition. These changes will also deepen the inequalities between population groups, disproportionally impacting those who are already at a disadvantage.
