The COVID-19 pandemic had changed the way we work globally, but a data gap exists on how significant it was in developing economies. A swift shift to working from home at the onset of the pandemic is well documented for many advanced economies, especially in the United States (e.g., Barrero, Bloom, Davis 2021a; Bick, Blandin, Mertens 2022; Jaumotte and others 2023). For developing economies, however, only limited data have been available regarding the extent to which people actually adjusted their work arrangements (except for cotemporaneous research by Aksoy and others 2022).1
