This policy brief 1 provides ASEAN Member States (AMS), sectoral bodies andASEAN partners with an overview of and recommendations for strengthening genderequality and social inclusion to help them implement both the ASEAN Guidelineson Disaster Responsive Social Protection to Increase Resilience and the ASEANFramework on Anticipatory Action in Disaster Management. It describes the currentstate of play and identifies enablers of and barriers to gender equality and socialinclusion in disaster responsive social protection and anticipatory action in theregion. Drawing on concrete examples from AMS, including policy innovations, experiences a nd lessons learned, this policy brief identifies areas that requireaccelerated efforts and provides key recommendations.
