The Open Data Maturity assessment 2022 benchmarks the development of European countries in the field of open data. In this eighth consecutive annual report by data.europa.eu1 (formerly European Data Portal), 35 countries participate, including the 27 EU Member States, 3 European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries (Iceland, Norway, Switzerland), 4 candidate countries (Albania, Montenegro, Serbia, Ukraine) and Bosnia and Herzegovina. This report aims to help participating countries to better understand their level of maturity, to capture their progress over time, to find areas for improvement and benchmark their maturity against other countries. Additionally, the study provides an overview of best practices implemented across Europe that could be transferred to other national and local contexts.
